Data deletion

Delete your data

Most Open Desktop Agent data is on your computer. Delete it from the app or by removing the app’s data folder. Data sent to a model provider, Google or another connector is deleted with that provider.

Back up first. These steps are irreversible. Export any chats or artifacts you want to keep before deleting the app data folder or the app’s workspace directory.

Chrome bridge extension

  1. In the extension popup, click Disconnect and, if you want to revoke the pairing, remove it in the app under Settings → Chrome.
  2. Open chrome://extensions, find Open Desktop Agent Chrome Bridge and click Remove.
  3. Removing the extension deletes its chrome.storage data, including the random profile id and local UI state.
  4. Remove the native host only if you are uninstalling the app: delete the generated native messaging manifest from your browser’s NativeMessagingHosts directory.

Desktop app data

Quit Open Desktop Agent first, then delete the app’s data folder for your platform:

Platform Path
macOS ~/Library/Application Support/Desktop Agent
Linux ~/.config/Desktop Agent
Windows %APPDATA%\Desktop Agent

This removes the SQLite database, tasks and chats, settings, logs, diagnostics, cached binaries, snapshots and the built-in browser profile.

Google Drive

  1. In Open Desktop Agent, disconnect Google Drive in Settings.
  2. Revoke the app’s access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  3. Delete artifacts and the app-created Drive folder in Google Drive if you no longer want them. Revoking access does not delete files you already saved.

Phone relay

  1. In the app, open the phone-dispatch settings and unpair the phone.
  2. To remove the relay data entirely, delete the Worker and its Durable Objects in the Cloudflare dashboard. The relay keeps summaries and hashed device keys, not your local chats or files.
  3. If you self-host the relay, you control its retention and backups.

Need confirmation?

Because the project does not operate a user-data service, there is usually no server-side account to delete. If you believe the maintainers hold data about you (for example in a private support thread), open a non-sensitive issue asking for a private channel, or contact the maintainer through github.com/beniaminp. See the privacy policy for the full data map.
